Our Mission
For 20 years, MMA Southeast has been hosting the Charity Classic to benefit the Pediatric Brain Tumor Foundation and has raised over $5 million towards the Butterfly Fund. The Pediatric Brain Tumor Foundation’s Butterfly Fund provides emergency financial assistance to families of children in treatment at partnering medical facilities. Your generosity directly impacts the lives of families who have an unmet financial household need, are seeking counseling for a member of the immediate family, or are seeking financial assistance for a child’s funeral or burial expenses, as a result of a child’s brain tumor diagnosis. This all started when Walt Rowson, one of our Employee Health and Benefit producers, approached Gaines Lanier and the JSL Board of Directors about having a corporate charity focus and sponsoring a golf event. Gaines and the Board agreed to try it for one year, and here we are now celebrating our 20th Anniversary!

By donating to the Pediatric Brain Tumor Foundation, you’ll give children with brain tumors - the Pediatric Brain Tumor Foundation's Stars - a brighter future. The funds raised through the Marsh McLennan Southeast Charity Classic fuel critically needed research into the more than 100 types of childhood brain tumors and provide support services to local families in need.
